Physical Education Attire, 2014-15

All high school students will be expected to wear a Big Spring Physical Education uniform, beginning in 2014-15.  The uniform is a maroon and gold shorts and shirt combination with a Bulldog logo.  The shorts/shirt combination is made of moisture management, “performance” clothing.  The cost of the shorts/shirt combination is $18.00.  The school will work with families in financial need regarding uniform costs.  The Health and Physical Education Department is moving to physical education uniforms for several reasons:

  • Safety- The uniform is designed for freedom of movement and minimal liability for injury(no pockets, zippers, belt loops, etc.)
  • Appropriate- No appropriate attire questions, students can not lose class points/credit with school approved uniform
  • Affordability- For this competitive cost, students may be able to wear one or both parts of the uniform throughout much or all of their high school years
  • School Spirit- Big Spring Bulldog logo and colors for everyone

During the last week of school, students will be voting on the Bulldog logo for the uniforms.  More information regarding uniforms ordering will be forthcoming.  Please contact the office with any questions.

District Announcements

Student Schedules in PowerSchool

Dear Parents and Students,

The District is currently in the process of moving to a new student information system, Aspen.  In the near future, PowerSchool will be disabled.  Therefore, student schedules in PowerSchool are inaccurate.  Once counselors return to the building to adjust the correct schedules, we will mail corrected schedules in early to mid-August to students and parents in the beginning of the year packet.

Freshmen Chromebook Initiative

The Big Spring School District is launching an exciting new learning opportunity for its students this year.  Every student in ninth grade will be issued a Chromebook for his/her exclusive use throughout high school.  The purpose of this initiative is to fully engage students and create a learning environment that fosters critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity.

For more information about the Chromebook initiative, requirements, and pick-up dates, please see the documents below.
