Ronald McDonald House Wish-List-10.2014.pdf
The Big Spring FFA has
partnered with the Cumberland County Farm Bureau to participate in the annual
Farmer's Care Day. Each year, County Farm Bureau members from across the
state of Pennsylvania collect donations for the Ronald McDonald House. The
Farmer’s Care date changes from year to year, and it is based on the average
cost of PA's food and the total income a family has earned to pay their food
costs for the year starting on January 1st. This year’s date is
February 11th, and the items will be delivered to the Ronald
McDonald house by a wagon that will be driven from the Hershey Lodge to the
house. Big Spring FFA members along with Farm Bureau members will
load and unload the wagon, present the donated good during the press
conference, and spend time with current families at the house learning about
why they are residents and why the house is important.
The FFA is asking
the Big Spring Community to help donate items for this cause from now until
next Wednesday, Feb. 10. Items can be delivered to the high office or students can
drop off items in rooms 141 (Mrs. Nailor) or 143 (Mrs. Fulton). Please
see that the attached list for items needed at this time.

Physical Education Attire, 2015-16
Physical Education Attire Instructions.pdf
All high school students will be expected to wear Big Spring Physical Education attire, beginning in 2014-15. The attire is a maroon and gold shorts and shirt combination with a Bulldog logo. The shorts/shirt combination is made of moisture management, “performance” clothing. The cost of the shorts/shirt combination is $18.00. The school will work with families in financial need regarding costs. The Health and Physical Education Department is moving to standard physical education attire for several reasons:
1. Safety- The PE clothing is designed for freedom of movement and minimal liability for injury(no pockets, zippers, belt loops, etc.)
2. Appropriate- No appropriate attire questions, students can not lose class points/credit with the school approved shirt/shirts.
3. Affordability- For this competitive cost, students may be able to wear one or both parts of the uniform throughout much or all of their high school years.
